Checkyeti Acquires Manawa to Expand Europe’s Outdoor Experiences Market
Outdoor activities booking platform Checkyeti has acquired Alentour SAS, the company behind the outdoor experiences marketplace Manawa, for an undisclosed amount. The deal marks a significant step toward consolidating Europe’s outdoor experiences market.
According to Checkyeti CEO Jakob Keller, the acquisition will help support local providers. It will also increase investment in technology. Additionally, he said Checkyeti and Manawa share the same long-term vision for outdoor and nature experiences across Europe.
Alentour SAS will join the Checkyeti Group as a separate company. Meanwhile, Manawa will continue operating under its existing brand and leadership. Banque des Territoires supported the transaction and is now a shareholder in the combined group.
AI and Technology Drive Future Growth
Keller said outdoor and nature experiences remain one of the most fragmented travel segments. At the same time, travelers expect simple digital discovery and booking.
He also explained that AI is changing how people discover experiences. As a result, specialized content and integrated supply are becoming increasingly valuable.
Founded in Vienna in 2014, Checkyeti focuses on winter and summer outdoor activities across Europe. Similarly, Paris-based Alentour SAS, founded in 2021, has built a strong presence in France and other European markets through Manawa.
Combined Platform Expands European Presence
Manawa CEO Timothée de Roux said joining Checkyeti provides greater scale and stronger technology. Furthermore, it gives the company additional resources to accelerate growth. He added that the partnership will create more value for partners and customers.
The companies also aim to build Europe’s leading platform for outdoor and nature experiences. In addition, the deal strengthens Europe’s digital sovereignty by bringing together two major European travel technology platforms.
Previously, during PhocusWire Europe 2025, Keller said demand for outdoor experiences increased during the pandemic. He explained that customer expectations continue to evolve. Therefore, platforms must constantly improve their content, technology, and user experience to remain competitive.
