American Cruise Lines Celebrates Third New Ship of 2026
American Cruise Lines has christened the American Ranger on the Hudson River, marking the company’s third new ship launch of 2026 and its fourth Patriot Class vessel.
The christening ceremony took place on September 24 at Historic Catskill Point in Catskill, New York. The event formed part of the ship’s inaugural nine-day “Hudson River Fall Foliage” cruise.
American Ranger Begins Hudson River Service
The American Ranger departed New York City on September 19 for its first Hudson River itinerary. The cruise concluded in Albany, New York, on September 26.
Susan Renner, American Cruise Lines’ treasurer and board chair, serves as the ship’s godmother. She also holds the same role for the American Ranger’s sister ship, American Maverick, which the company christened earlier this year in Newport, Rhode Island.
The company plans to introduce more Patriot Class ships next year. American Cruise Lines will add the sister ships Mariner and Navigator, along with the modern riverboat American Anthem.
130-Guest Ship Features Private Balconies
The American Ranger features four decks and accommodates up to 130 guests. Every stateroom includes a private balcony, with accommodation options ranging from single rooms to suites.
In addition, the ship offers several passenger amenities. These include a top-deck lounge with a walking track, a chart room, main restaurant, casual café, fitness center and laundry room.
These features give the vessel a range of facilities typically associated with larger cruise ships.
Hudson River Cruises Continue Through 2027
American Cruise Lines is operating Hudson River cruises between New York City and Albany during the 2026 season.
The itineraries include stops at Catskill, West Point, Sleepy Hollow and Kingston/Hyde Park. Guests can also take part in guided excursions across the Hudson River region.
The final 2026 cruise is scheduled to begin on October 25.
In 2027, the company’s Hudson River cruises will operate roundtrip from Albany. The itineraries will also include New York City and excursions offering views of the Manhattan skyline and the Statue of Liberty.
New York and Hudson Valley Attractions
The cruises provide access to several major attractions across the region. These include the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library, the Gilded Age mansions of Olana and Lyndhurst, and Whitecliff Vineyard.
Meanwhile, fall itineraries will feature apple-tasting experiences and visits to Sleepy Hollow during its Halloween season.
American Cruise Lines will begin its 2027 Hudson River Summer Classic cruises in June. The company’s Hudson River Fall Foliage cruises will return in September.
