Marriott International and Blacksand have signed a landmark agreement to develop 10 new hotels across Saudi Arabia over the next four years. The multi-brand partnership will deliver more than 1,300 rooms and support the Kingdom’s expanding tourism and urban development strategy.

The agreement strengthens the pipeline of Marriott hotels Saudi Arabia while introducing a diverse range of hospitality experiences across key destinations.

10 Hotels Across Multiple Marriott Brands

The development will include hotels under several Marriott brands, covering the luxury, premium, select-service, and extended-stay segments.

The planned portfolio includes:

  • St. Regis Hotels & Resorts
  • Marriott Hotels
  • Autograph Collection
  • Moxy Hotels
  • Courtyard by Marriott
  • Residence Inn by Marriott
  • Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy

Together, these properties aim to combine Marriott’s global hospitality standards with locally inspired design and guest experiences.

First Hotel Planned for Riyadh

The projects are currently in the design and early construction phases. Marriott and Blacksand expect to open the hotels in stages through 2030, with the first property scheduled to debut in Riyadh.

Additionally, the hotels will be located across several cities in Saudi Arabia, supporting the country’s growing tourism infrastructure and increasing accommodation capacity.

Supporting Jobs and Tourism Growth

The Marriott hotels Saudi Arabia project is expected to create more than 6,000 full-time jobs once completed. Furthermore, at least 60% of these positions will be allocated to Saudi nationals, supporting the Kingdom’s workforce development goals.

Omar Alabdullatif, Chief Executive Officer of Blacksand, said the agreement represents a major milestone for the company and reflects its ambition to deliver high-quality hospitality projects that contribute to Saudi Arabia’s future.

Meanwhile, Jerome Briet, Chief Development Officer for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa at Marriott International, said the partnership supports Marriott’s strategy to diversify its portfolio in Saudi Arabia while meeting the evolving needs of business and leisure travelers.

Long-Term Partnership for Future Expansion

Both companies described the agreement as the beginning of a long-term collaboration. Beyond the initial 10 hotels, Marriott International and Blacksand plan to explore additional opportunities to expand their joint hospitality portfolio across Saudi Arabia as the Kingdom continues to position itself as one of the world’s fastest-growing tourism destinations.
