New land programs will give guests immersive wildlife and cultural experiences before sailing aboard Atlas Adventurer
Atlas Ocean Voyages has announced seven new pre-voyage land experiences for its 2029 Kenya and South Africa itineraries aboard Atlas Adventurer.
The programs will complement four voyages scheduled for the ship’s spring 2029 season. The 400-guest luxury expedition vessel will join the Atlas fleet in November 2028, making the season its inaugural year of service.
Four Voyages to Feature the Experiences
Guests can book the new land programs alongside four Atlas Adventurer voyages:
- A 14-night voyage from Mombasa to Cape Town departing March 24, 2029.
- A 14-night voyage from Cape Town to Mombasa departing April 7, 2029.
- A 45-night Extraordinary Expedition from Cape Town to Athens departing April 7, 2029.
- A 10-night voyage from Mombasa to Mahé departing April 21, 2029.
The programs allow travelers to begin their expedition on land before boarding the ship.

Three Safari Experiences From Mombasa
Atlas Ocean Voyages will offer three pre-voyage programs from Mombasa, Kenya.
Amboseli & Tsavo East Safari
The three-night experience starts at $3,679. Guests spend two nights at Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge and one night at Ashnil Aruba Lodge in Tsavo East National Park.
The itinerary includes wildlife drives through Amboseli and Tsavo East. Guests can see elephants beneath Mount Kilimanjaro and explore the parks in open 4×4 vehicles before transferring to Mombasa for embarkation.
The A&K Sanctuary Experience
The five-night program starts at $12,509. Guests begin with an overnight stay at JW Marriott in Nairobi before traveling to Sanctuary Kitirua Lodge.
The private-conservancy property borders Amboseli National Park and offers views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Guests then continue to Sanctuary Olonana for twice-daily game drives before returning to Mombasa.
Luxury Signature Safari
The seven-night program starts at $26,969. It is the most exclusive of the three Kenya experiences.
Guests visit three private reserves, including Sanctuary Kitirua in Amboseli, &Beyond Suyian Lodge in Laikipia and The Ritz-Carlton’s safari camp on the Sand River in the Masai Mara.
The experience includes 4×4 safaris and a dedicated resident tour director before guests return to Mombasa to board Atlas Adventurer.
Four Experiences From Cape Town
Atlas will also offer four programs designed around southern Africa’s landscapes and wildlife.
Cape Winelands Discovery
The three-night experience starts at $3,429 and is based at Le Quartier Français in Franschhoek.
Guests will tour Paarl and Stellenbosch and visit wineries including Nederburg, Fairview and Tokara. The program also features a Wine Tram experience through the Franschhoek Valley.
The itinerary concludes with a cable-car ascent of Table Mountain before guests transfer to the Cape Town cruise terminal.
Kruger Safari & Lion Sands Game Reserve
The three-night program starts at $8,389.
Guests spend an initial night in Johannesburg before flying to Skukuza and continuing to Lion Sands Narina Lodge. The lodge features stilted suites with private plunge pools overlooking the Sabie River.
The experience combines wildlife viewing in the Sabi Sand and Kruger National Park areas. Guests then fly back to Cape Town for embarkation.
Northern Kruger Safari – Ngala Safari Lodge
The four-night program starts at $8,469 and takes guests to &Beyond Ngala Safari Lodge within a private concession in Kruger National Park.
The itinerary includes twice-daily game drives and guided nature walks. Guests can also participate in optional rhino conservation experiences before returning to Cape Town.
Botswana Safari – Okavango Delta & Chobe
The six-night program starts at $17,379.
Guests travel from Johannesburg to Botswana and stay at Chief’s Camp on Chief’s Island in the Okavango Delta’s Moremi Game Reserve.
The journey continues to Chobe Chilwero before an overnight stay at the historic Victoria Falls Hotel. Guests will also take part in a guided tour of Victoria Falls before flying back to Cape Town for their cruise.
Expanding the Expedition Experience
The new programs give Atlas Ocean Voyages guests more ways to combine luxury cruising with extended land exploration.
By pairing safari experiences with voyages aboard Atlas Adventurer, the company is expanding the expedition experience beyond the ship and creating longer, more immersive journeys through Africa.
