Explora Journeys has confirmed that its luxury cruise ship, the Explora II, will now operate in the Mediterranean Sea between November 2026 and March 2027, replacing its previously planned itineraries in the Middle East.
The decision was made well in advance to give travellers and travel advisors greater certainty while planning upcoming voyages.
Strategic itinerary change
According to Explora Journeys, the itinerary adjustment reflects the company’s focus on ensuring a smooth travel experience for guests and partners.
The newly planned Western Mediterranean program will include destinations designed to highlight the region’s cultural heritage, coastal landscapes, and culinary experiences.
The updated routes are also expected to include ports in North Africa, expanding the variety of destinations available to passengers.
Support for booked guests and travel advisors
Passengers who previously booked voyages on the affected itineraries will be contacted directly by Explora Journeys.
The cruise line said it will provide:
- Dedicated assistance for affected guests
- Updated travel options where applicable
- Direct communication with travel advisor partners
These measures aim to ensure a smooth transition for travellers impacted by the schedule change.
