MSC Cruises has revealed new details about two redesigned districts onboard its upcoming flagship vessel, the MSC World Asia. The updates focus on enhancing family entertainment and pool experiences ahead of the ship’s debut in the Mediterranean Sea in late 2026.
The redesigned areas — The Harbour and Aqua Deck — will feature new attractions, family-friendly entertainment zones, and refreshed pool facilities.
The Harbour district redesigned for families
The Harbour district will remain an outdoor park designed specifically for families but will now feature an Asian-inspired theme, reflecting the identity of the MSC World Asia.
The revamped space will include:
- A swing ride attraction
- A high ropes adventure course
- A family-friendly aquapark
- A snack bar area
- What the cruise line says will be the largest dry slide ever installed on a cruise ship
A new addition called the Play Deck will serve as a social outdoor area where families can relax while children engage with interactive play elements designed to encourage social connection and shared experiences.
Aqua Deck district receives new pool designs
The ship’s Aqua Deck district is also being redesigned to enhance the onboard pool experience.
The main outdoor pool area will feature the Manila Bay pool, complemented by the Pearl Lagoon Bar and additional shaded seating spaces.
Meanwhile, the indoor pool area known as Coral Cove will receive a new look. The space will include:
- A retractable glass roof
- A poolside bar
- A large-scale art installation created by Elisabetta Milan, designed in the shape of a water droplet
Extensive onboard water features
The MSC World Asia will feature an extensive water recreation offering, including:
- Seven swimming pools
- Thirteen whirlpool baths
These amenities are designed to cater to a wide range of passengers, from families with children to guests seeking relaxation and entertainment.
Mediterranean debut planned for 2026
The new ship was floated out in France in November 2025 and is scheduled to enter service in the Mediterranean in late 2026.
With the introduction of redesigned entertainment zones like the Harbour and Aqua Deck, MSC Cruises aims to strengthen the family-oriented and leisure-focused experience across its next-generation cruise fleet.
