Small-ship cruise operator Windstar Cruises has announced nearly 30 new voyages for 2026, expanding its global itineraries with routes designed to reach lesser-visited destinations across Europe, the South Pacific and other emerging cruise regions. The new programme is paired with the company’s largest-ever Wave Season promotion, offering exclusive incentives for travelers seeking intimate yacht-style cruising experiences.

The new itineraries aim to provide passengers with access to smaller ports and culturally rich destinations that are typically inaccessible to larger cruise ships, helping diversify tourism flows while supporting local economies.

Windstar’s Small-Ship Cruises Focus on Hidden Destinations

Unlike mega cruise ships carrying thousands of passengers, Windstar’s fleet is designed for intimate travel experiences, accommodating 148 to 342 guests per yacht.

This smaller capacity allows the cruise line to access coastal villages, remote islands and smaller ports, offering travelers closer interaction with local cultures and landscapes.

The company’s 2026 programme expands voyages in regions such as:

  • the Mediterranean Sea
  • the Adriatic Sea
  • the South Pacific Ocean
  • Northern European destinations including the Netherlands and Belgium

These itineraries are designed to blend luxury cruising with immersive cultural exploration.

New Windstar Cruises Itineraries for 2026

Among the highlights of the Windstar Cruises 2026 voyages are several new themed routes offering unique travel experiences.

Tulip Season in Holland & Belgium

A 7-night voyage aboard the Star Pride during peak tulip bloom. The cruise includes visits to Keukenhof Gardens, along with stops in Amsterdam and Bruges.

Bella Italia – A Southern Italian Romance

An 8-night journey exploring the lesser-known coastal regions of Calabria and Puglia, providing deeper insight into southern Italy’s culture, cuisine and heritage.

Classic Italy and Dalmatian Coast

Another 8-night itinerary visiting iconic destinations including Venice, Rome, Dubrovnik and the Bay of Kotor.

Far Flung French Polynesia & Marquesas Magic

An 11-night South Pacific adventure aboard the Star Breeze, visiting the Marquesas Islands and Society Islands, including an overnight stay in Bora Bora.

Shorter “Quick Getaways” Introduced for Flexible Travel

Responding to growing demand for shorter vacations, Windstar has introduced 3- to 5-night “Quick Getaways.”

These shorter itineraries allow travelers to experience luxury cruising in destinations such as:

  • Italy
  • France
  • Belgium

The shorter cruises provide flexible travel options while maintaining the brand’s hallmark luxury service and small-ship atmosphere.

Wave Season Promotion Offers Major Travel Incentives

To encourage early bookings, Windstar Cruises has launched its Wave Season promotion, available until March 31, 2026.

The promotion includes several complimentary benefits, such as:

  • unlimited beverages on select voyages
  • complimentary Wi-Fi
  • prepaid gratuities
  • up to $1,000 onboard credit
  • a pre-cruise hotel night with transfer to the yacht (where available)

The promotion applies to select voyages sailing through March 31, 2027, giving travelers additional flexibility for future bookings.

Small-Ship Cruising Supports Sustainable Tourism

Windstar’s strategy of visiting smaller ports and remote destinations helps distribute tourism benefits beyond major cruise hubs.

By bringing travelers to lesser-visited regions, the cruises contribute to:

  • increased local tourism revenue
  • support for small businesses and cultural experiences
  • more sustainable tourism distribution

This approach allows smaller communities to benefit from international tourism while avoiding the overcrowding often associated with large cruise ships.

Outlook for Windstar Cruises in 2026

With nearly 30 new voyages, expanded itineraries and strong promotional offers, Windstar Cruises’ 2026 programme signals growing demand for small-ship luxury cruising.

As travelers increasingly seek authentic, intimate and culturally immersive journeys, Windstar’s yacht-style voyages are expected to play an important role in shaping the future of boutique cruise tourism.
