Cordelia Cruises is set to expand its fleet with the launch of Cordelia Sun, which will begin operations in India on November 1, 2027, according to the cruise line’s published schedule.
The ship currently sails as Norwegian Sun for Norwegian Cruise Line. Cordelia Cruises acquired the vessel in April 2025, along with Norwegian Sky, as part of its fleet expansion plans.
Before joining its new owner, Norwegian Sun will complete its final voyage for Norwegian Cruise Line in September 2027. It will then undergo preparations before entering service as Cordelia Sun.
The 2,000-passenger ship will start its inaugural season with a four-night roundtrip cruise from Mumbai. The maiden voyage includes a visit to Agatti Island in Lakshadweep, along with two days at sea.
Following the inaugural sailing, Cordelia Sun will operate a series of two- to five-night cruises from Mumbai. The itineraries will feature destinations such as Agatti Island, Mormugao (Goa) and Cochin. In addition, the cruise line will offer two-night cruises to nowhere, giving guests a short getaway with a full day at sea.
Meanwhile, passengers will also be able to board selected sailings from Goa and Cochin. The current deployment schedule runs through April 2028.
Cordelia Cruises is also preparing to welcome Norwegian Sky to its fleet. The ship is expected to begin sailing as Cordelia Sky from October 23, 2026, after completing its farewell season in the British Isles. Initially, it will offer short cruises from Mumbai, Goa and Cochin before expanding to Southeast Asia in mid-2027.
Together with Cordelia Empress, the additions of Cordelia Sky and Cordelia Sun will significantly strengthen Cordelia Cruises’ presence in the Indian cruise market. The expanded fleet will offer travelers more domestic itineraries as well as international voyages across Southeast Asia.
