London, UK – February 2026 – British Airways has announced the latest release of its popular British Airways Avios-Only flights, introducing two summer leisure routes from London City Airport to Madrid and Toulon (Toulon Saint-Tropez).

The new services mark the airline’s 50th Avios-Only milestone flight, with the return leg from Madrid to London City serving as the symbolic 50th service in the programme’s history.

Seats go on sale exclusively to members of The British Airways Club from 12 February 2026.

What Are Avios-Only Flights?

British Airways Avios-Only flights make 100% of seats available as Reward Seats, meaning every seat onboard can be booked using Avios.

Since launching in 2023, the airline has operated 48 Avios-Only services to 16 destinations across Europe, the Caribbean, Africa, and the Middle East, including:

  • Cape Town
  • Bridgetown
  • Sharm El Sheikh
  • Málaga
  • Marrakesh

With the addition of Madrid and Toulon, British Airways will surpass 50 dedicated Avios-Only flights, including operations by BA Cityflyer and BA Euroflyer subsidiaries.

Loyalty Benefits and Companion Vouchers

Members using a British Airways American Express Credit Card can redeem Companion Vouchers on Avios-Only flights. These allow a second passenger to travel for no additional Avios — only taxes and charges apply.

In addition to Avios-Only services, British Airways guarantees Reward Seat availability across its broader network:

  • Minimum 12 Reward Seats on short-haul flights from Heathrow and Gatwick
  • Minimum 14 Reward Seats on long-haul flights
  • Four Reward Seats guaranteed on London City services (two Club Europe, two Euro Traveller)

However, Avios-Only flights differ because every seat can be purchased using Avios.

Strengthening the Loyalty Proposition

Colm Lacy, Chief Commercial Officer at British Airways, said the initiative continues to provide loyal customers with enhanced redemption opportunities for peak summer travel.

Adam Daniels, CEO of IAG Loyalty, added that offering entire aircraft exclusively for Avios bookings demonstrates the growing power and flexibility of loyalty-based travel models.

About The British Airways Club

The British Airways Club is free to join and allows members to collect Avios through flights, partner airlines, retail spending, and partners including American Express, Nectar, Avis Budget Group, and Marriott.

Members also earn tier points when flying with British Airways and its oneworld partners, unlocking benefits across Blue, Bronze, Silver, and Gold tiers. From April 1, 2025, members also collect tier points on ancillary spending, co-branded credit card use, and sustainable aviation fuel contributions.
