Frankfurt, Germany – February 2026 – Lufthansa has announced that 25 of 28 seats in its new Allegris Business Class cabin aboard the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner are now available for booking, with travel beginning April 15, 2026.

Following key certification milestones, the majority of the redesigned Business Class seats can now be reserved immediately, marking a major step in Lufthansa’s ongoing long-haul product transformation.

Expanding the Allegris Experience

Lufthansa first introduced its fully redesigned Allegris cabin concept in summer 2024 on the Airbus A350-900 operating from Munich. Since October 9, 2025, Allegris has also been flying from Frankfurt on newly delivered Boeing 787-9 aircraft.

With regulatory approvals largely complete — except for three seats in the second row of the Business Class cabin — customers can now secure one of 25 operational seats for flights from mid-April onward.

Jens Ritter, CEO of Lufthansa Airlines, stated that more than one million passengers have already experienced the Allegris cabin since launch in 2024, underscoring strong customer demand.

Seat Options and Customization

When booking Lufthansa Allegris Business Class 787-9, passengers can choose from several seat types:

Included (Free)

  • Classic Seats, offering full access to the new Business Class product and features

Optional Upgrades (Available for Additional Fee)

  • Business Class Suite
  • Extra Space Seat (additional legroom)
  • Privacy Seat (window-side enhanced privacy)
  • Extra Long Bed (2.20-meter fully flat sleeping surface)

This modular approach allows travelers to tailor their comfort level based on personal preference.

Routes from Frankfurt

Beginning with the summer 2026 flight schedule, Lufthansa’s Boeing 787-9 aircraft equipped with Allegris will operate from Frankfurt to:

  • Austin
  • Rio de Janeiro
  • Bogotá
  • Cape Town
  • Shanghai
  • Hyderabad
  • Hong Kong

Additional destinations include:

  • New York (JFK) – starting June
  • Los Angeles – starting June
  • Delhi – starting July

Fleet Expansion Plans

Since Allegris service began from Frankfurt in October 2025, eight new Boeing 787-9 aircraft have already been delivered. Lufthansa has ordered 21 additional Dreamliners and plans to operate a total of 29 Boeing 787-9 aircraft by the end of 2027.

A Strategic Milestone for Lufthansa

The rollout of Lufthansa Allegris Business Class 787-9 represents a significant milestone in the airline’s long-haul modernization strategy. By combining customizable seating options with a next-generation cabin design, Lufthansa continues to strengthen its premium positioning in global long-haul markets.

With bookings now open, passengers departing Frankfurt can access one of Lufthansa’s most advanced Business Class products beginning April 15, 2026.
