Seasonal service strengthens links between Frankfurt and Hainan during Chinese New Year peak
Condor has celebrated the launch of its inaugural Condor Frankfurt to Haikou flight, marking the airline’s first service to Haikou Meilan International Airport (HAK) on China’s Hainan Island.
The new seasonal route began on 6 February 2026 and will operate twice weekly through 9 March 2026, targeting increased travel demand during the Chinese New Year period.
Twice-Weekly Service via Bangkok
Flights depart from Frankfurt Airport on Sundays and Thursdays, operating via Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK), before arriving at Haikou Meilan International Airport on Mondays and Fridays.
Condor said the new connection responds to seasonal demand while strengthening its presence in the Chinese market.
Expanding Presence on Hainan Island
By adding Haikou to its network, Condor expands operations on Hainan Island, complementing its existing services to Sanya, which launched in July 2025.
Haikou is the capital of Hainan Province and serves as the island’s primary international gateway. The city has grown in importance as both a tourism destination and a commercial transport hub in southern China.
The new route increases capacity for leisure and business travel between Europe and China, offering additional connectivity options for travelers and travel trade partners.
Strengthening Asia Portfolio
The Condor Frankfurt to Haikou flight further enhances the airline’s Asia portfolio, reinforcing Frankfurt’s role as a key European departure point for long-haul leisure travel.
Tickets are available through Condor’s website, travel agencies and tour operators.
With seasonal demand driving expansion, the Haikou launch signals continued growth in Condor’s China strategy and rising connectivity between Europe and the island province of Hainan.
