Revolut Entrepreneur Explores AI’s Future in Travel
Revolut is using artificial intelligence to transform the way people plan and book travel. Almost a year after acquiring AI-powered travel agent Swifty, the fintech company continues to develop its agentic AI capabilities.
Stanislav Bondarenko, Swifty co-founder and Revolut’s entrepreneur in residence, now works within the company’s lifestyle unit. His goal remains focused on creating a travel tool that can book flights and hotels from a single voice message.
AI Could Simplify Travel Planning
Speaking at Phocuswright Europe 2026, Bondarenko discussed the advantages of developing the technology within Revolut. He highlighted the company’s large customer base and access to transaction and behavioural data as major benefits.
According to Bondarenko, this data can help Revolut understand customer preferences and improve personalisation. However, he noted that developers must separate useful signals from the large amount of available data.
AI could also use information from previous trips and transactions to understand what travellers want. As a result, travellers may eventually complete bookings with far fewer steps.
Travel Booking Beyond Apps
Bondarenko believes AI could fundamentally change where and how people book travel. In the future, travellers may not need a traditional chatbot or dedicated travel app.
Instead, AI could enable booking through different digital environments based on the traveller’s needs and context. Ultimately, Revolut aims to use AI to make travel planning more personalised, seamless and convenient.
