New Live Music Venues Coming to Oosterdam and Zuiderdam
Holland America Line is adding new poolside music venues to two ships as part of its Holland America Evolution program.
The cruise line will install dedicated bandstands at the Lido Pool on Oosterdam and Zuiderdam. The new spaces will host live music, special events and other entertainment throughout each cruise.
The first bandstand will debut on Oosterdam after its Evolution transformation in fall 2027. Zuiderdam will also receive the new poolside venue as part of the program.
More Live Entertainment at the Lido Pool
The new bandstands will give Holland America guests another place to enjoy live performances. Programming will range from solo musicians to full live bands.
The venues will also support sailaway celebrations and special events. In addition, Holland America plans to bring its signature Orange Party programming to the new spaces.
The Lido Pool features a retractable glass roof. As a result, guests can enjoy the entertainment in different weather conditions.
Part of a $500 Million Fleet Upgrade
The poolside music venues form part of Holland America Evolution. The company is investing more than $500 million in the fleet-wide upgrade program.
The program will transform six Vista and Signature Class ships. Holland America plans to introduce Pinnacle Class-inspired experiences, new venues and additional staterooms and suites.
Oosterdam and Zuiderdam are the first two ships scheduled to undergo the Evolution transformations.
More Enhancements for Guests
The two ships will receive several additional upgrades. For example, Holland America plans to introduce the popular Grand Dutch Café.
The ships will also receive new staterooms and suites. These changes will provide guests with more accommodation choices and additional onboard spaces.
Together, the upgrades aim to expand Holland America’s entertainment and hospitality offerings across more of its fleet.
Holland America Expands Its Entertainment Offering
Holland America has continued to expand its live entertainment options across its fleet. The new Lido Pool bandstands add another dedicated space for music while moving performances into one of the ships’ busiest social areas.
Beth Bodensteiner, president of Holland America Line, said the company has focused on expanding entertainment based on what guests enjoy most.
The new venues will therefore give travelers more opportunities to experience live music during their cruises.
Bookings are already open for cruises aboard Oosterdam and Zuiderdam following their respective refurbishments. Guests will be able to experience the updated ships once the Evolution transformations are complete.
