Adelaide Airport to Upgrade Passenger Experience with Amadeus Self-Service Technology
Adelaide Airport is set to transform its passenger experience with a major rollout of Amadeus self-service check-in, baggage and cloud-based passenger processing technology.
The upgrade will introduce more than 50 Amadeus Seamless Bag Drop units and around 80 Amadeus Seamless Kiosks across the airport. The new technology is designed to speed up passenger processing, reduce queues and provide travelers with greater flexibility.
The new bag-drop units can operate in both fully self-service and agent-assisted modes. Their side-loading design also makes it easier for passengers and staff to handle larger items, including wheelchairs, pushchairs and trolleys.
Meanwhile, the new self-service kiosks will provide passengers with a faster and simpler check-in experience. The technology will allow travelers to complete key parts of the departure process with less reliance on traditional check-in counters.
Moving passenger processing to the cloud
As part of the project, Adelaide Airport will also move its passenger processing technology to the cloud through Amadeus ACUS (Airport Cloud Use Service).
The cloud-based system will allow airlines to operate from any check-in or boarding counter. It will also give staff easier access to the systems required to manage passenger services.
Furthermore, the technology will reduce Adelaide Airport’s reliance on fixed network connections. This will allow passenger services to operate from new areas of the departure hall or through mobile agents.
The upgrade is expected to give the airport greater flexibility when introducing new airline routes and managing changing passenger demand.
By combining self-service technology with cloud-based passenger processing, Adelaide Airport aims to create a faster, more flexible and more connected travel experience for passengers.
