Gulf airlines are once again becoming the preferred choice for travelers flying between Asia and Europe as flight operations across the Middle East return to normal, according to travel agents in the UAE.

The recovery has boosted booking confidence and encouraged more passengers to choose carriers such as Emirates and Etihad Airways for long-haul travel.

Booking Confidence Improves

Travel agents say customers are booking earlier as flight schedules become more stable.

Geoffrey Salatan, CEO of Geof Travel, said travelers now have more flight options and greater confidence in planning their trips. As a result, booking activity has gradually increased.

According to Reuters, citing Flightradar24 data, Gulf airlines had restored about 90% of their flight operations by mid-June. UAE carriers have continued operating at near-full capacity despite ongoing regional tensions.

Gulf Airlines Gain an Edge

Travel agents noted that more passengers are returning to UAE-based airlines for Europe-bound travel.

However, travelers still choose airlines based on several factors, including schedules, connections, fares and overall convenience.

Salatan said competitive pricing remains important, but many customers also consider baggage allowances, travel time and service quality when making booking decisions.

Emirates and Etihad Benefit from Strong Networks

Emirates and Etihad continue to attract travelers with their extensive route networks and convenient connections.

Although Asian airlines remain competitive, the two Gulf carriers offer strong value through reliable schedules and high service standards.

Travel agents said many customers select the airline that best fits their travel plans rather than focusing only on ticket prices.

Gulf Hubs See Stronger Demand

Travel agencies have also reported increased demand for flights through Gulf hubs.

Malou Prado, founder of MPQ Travel & Tourism, said more travelers are booking flights through Dubai because they trust the region’s restored flight operations.

She added that many customers prefer Gulf airlines because they combine competitive fares with convenient connections and shorter travel times.

Summer Travel Drives Recovery

Airports across the UAE, including Dubai International Airport, Sharjah Airport and Zayed International Airport, are preparing for a busy summer travel season.

As passenger demand continues to recover, Gulf airlines appear well positioned to strengthen their role as key transit carriers between Asia and Europe.
