New Asia Season Aboard Star Seeker

Windstar Cruises has launched its Windstar Cruises 2028–29 Asia Season aboard the Star Seeker.

The new season will feature 25 departures from September 2028 to May 2029. The itineraries will explore Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Singapore.

The cruise line said the Star Seeker’s smaller size allows guests to reach city-center docks and regional ports that larger ships cannot access. As a result, travelers can enjoy closer connections with local communities and cultural destinations.

“We’re seeing extraordinary enthusiasm for Asia, with bookings significantly outpacing previous years,” said Janet Bava, chief commercial officer at Windstar Cruises.

Immersive Asia Travel Experiences

Travelers are increasingly looking for more personal and authentic journeys. Therefore, Windstar designed these voyages to provide deeper cultural experiences.

The Star Seeker can dock closer to major destinations such as Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City. In addition, the ship can visit smaller ports throughout the region.

Guests can select from four main cruise-only voyages. They can also extend their journey with Star Collector sailings ranging from 20 to 42 days.

Moreover, pre- and post-cruise Cruise Tours are available to destinations including Hanoi, Angkor Wat, Chiang Mai and Kyoto.

Grand Japan (10 nights)

This itinerary travels from Tokyo to Osaka and Kyoto. It combines major cities with smaller ports, including Karatsu, while cruising through Japan’s Inland Sea.

Vietnam & Cambodia Revealed (10 nights)

Guests can explore Vietnam through overnight stays in Ho Chi Minh City and Halong Bay/Hanoi. Optional land experiences also include visits to Angkor Wat.

East Asian Legends (10 nights)

This voyage connects Vietnam, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Japan. Stops include Taipei, Okinawa, Amami and Ishigaki.

Tantalizing Thailand & Sparkling Singapore (11 nights)

This Southeast Asia journey travels between Bangkok and Phuket. It also includes an overnight stay in Singapore.

Legendary Temples: Chiang Mai & Angkor Wat Cruise Tour (18 nights)

This extended experience combines Southeast Asian cruising with inland exploration. Guests can spend three nights in Chiang Mai and enjoy a guided Angkor Wat visit.

Grand Asia Explorer (41 nights)

This long Star Collector voyage connects Phuket and Tokyo. It includes overnight stays in four cities and scenic cruising along the Saigon and Chao Phraya rivers.

Early Booking Benefits

To celebrate the launch, Windstar Cruises introduced an early booking offer available until July 31, 2026.

The offer includes preferred stateroom selection, a Complimentary All-Inclusive Package, a $100 onboard credit per guest and 5% savings on cruise fares when paid in full at booking.

With expanded routes, smaller ports and longer immersive journeys, the Windstar Cruises 2028–29 Asia Season aims to provide travelers with a more personalized way to explore Asia.
