Explora Journeys has opened sales for its Explora Journeys Summer 2028 collection, marking a major expansion for the luxury cruise line as it prepares to operate a full six-ship fleet.
The company said the Summer 2028 season will cover 178 destinations across 27 countries. A major milestone for the brand will arrive in August 2028 with the debut of Explora VI.
The launch will complete Explora Journeys’ planned six-ship fleet expansion strategy.
Explora Journeys Expands Global Cruise Network
According to Anna Nash, president of Explora Journeys, the new season reflects the company’s long-term vision for luxury ocean travel.
The expanded fleet allows the cruise line to increase destination coverage while offering deeper regional experiences across Europe, North America, Alaska, and the Arctic.
The growth also reflects wider trends in the luxury cruise sector. Cruise operators continue investing in premium experiences, extended port stays, and destination-focused itineraries as demand for experiential travel rises.
Mediterranean and European Sailings Lead Summer 2028
Explora I will sail across the Mediterranean between April and October 2028. The ship will visit 25 destinations in six countries, including the Cyclades, the Dodecanese, the Turkish Coast, Mykonos, and an overnight stay in Istanbul.
Meanwhile, Explora II will focus on the Western Mediterranean, North Africa, and the French and Italian Rivieras. The vessel will visit 36 destinations and include overnight stays in Lisbon and late departures from ports such as Ibiza, Capri, and Casablanca.
Alaska, Northern Europe and Arctic Expansion
Explora III will return to Alaska between May and September. The ship will visit 20 destinations in the United States and Canada, including Juneau, Skagway, Wrangell, and Klawock.
At the same time, Explora IV will operate across Northern Europe and the Baltic Sea. The ship will visit 51 destinations in 15 countries and feature 11 maiden calls, including Runavík in the Faroe Islands and Djúpivogur in Iceland.
Explora V and Explora VI Add New Itineraries
Explora V will explore the Baltic Sea, Norwegian fjords, Iceland, Greenland, and the North American Eastern Seaboard between May and September 2028. The itineraries include overnight stays in New York City and Quebec City.
The newest ship, Explora VI, will launch with 13 Mediterranean sailings from August through November 2028. Its maiden voyage will sail from Rome to Barcelona.
The itineraries will include destinations such as Sicily, Sardinia, the French Riviera, Dubrovnik, Trogir, and the Bay of Kotor.
