Expedia Cruises hosted its largest-ever Anchor Conference in 2026, bringing together nearly 1,000 franchisees, vacation consultants, supply partners, and corporate team members onboard the MSC World America.

Held from April 11–18, the annual event focused on collaboration, technology innovation, and long-term business growth under the theme “Stronger Together – Elevate and Accelerate.”

Expedia Cruises Expands Franchise and Consultant Network

To begin with, Expedia Cruises announced ambitious expansion plans during the conference.

The company revealed plans to recruit 2,400 new vacation consultants and open 15 additional franchise locations this year.

As a result, the company is positioning itself for continued growth amid rising global demand for cruise travel and vacation planning services.

Moreover, the event highlighted the increasing importance of advisor networks and franchise support within the evolving travel industry.

According to Expedia Cruises President Matthew Eichhorst, the conference represented the company’s most successful Anchor event to date.

AI and Technology Investments Support Travel Advisor Growth

Importantly, technology innovation was a major focus throughout the conference.

Expedia Cruises introduced a new AI-driven consumer website platform designed to support consultants with customer engagement and sales growth.

In addition, the company showcased recent technology enhancements, including:

  • A consultant performance dashboard
  • A sales pipeline powered by Microsoft Power BI
  • Expanded sales and marketing tools
  • New training and coaching initiatives

Consequently, the company continues to strengthen its digital infrastructure while helping advisors improve operational efficiency and customer service.

This aligns with broader trends in AI-powered travel technology, where companies are increasingly investing in intelligent systems to personalize customer experiences and streamline travel sales workflows.

Conference Highlights Industry Collaboration and Recognition

Beyond technology, the conference emphasized industry collaboration and professional development.

The event featured keynote sessions, one-on-one coaching opportunities, trade shows, and networking activities designed to strengthen relationships across the travel ecosystem.

Notably, more than 100 vacation consultants achieved Diamond Level recognition after surpassing $1 million in annual sales.

This reflects the continued strength of cruise travel demand and the growing role of travel advisors in delivering personalized vacation planning services.

Cruise Industry Continues Investing in Growth and Innovation

Meanwhile, the conference took place onboard MSC World America, highlighting the cruise industry’s ongoing investment in large-scale events, customer engagement, and destination experiences.

Participants also visited Ocean Cay, Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, MSC Cruises’ private island destination in the Bahamas.

Overall, the event demonstrates how cruise and travel companies are combining AI, advisor support, and franchise expansion to capture growing travel demand.

Similarly, travel brands across the industry are increasingly using technology-driven strategies to improve personalization, sales performance, and operational scalability.

Outlook

As the global travel market continues to expand, Expedia Cruises is strengthening its position through network growth, technology investments, and advisor-focused initiatives.

By integrating AI-powered tools with training and franchise development, the company aims to help travel consultants scale their businesses while adapting to evolving consumer expectations.

The success of the 2026 Anchor Conference reflects the growing importance of technology-enabled travel advisor ecosystems in the future of cruise and leisure travel.
