Etihad Expands Its Biggest Summer Programme Yet With More Capacity and New Routes
Etihad Airways has launched its largest-ever Etihad summer programme 2026, with more than 300 daily flights, increased capacity and nine new or returning destinations.
The airline is adding 10% more capacity compared with last summer. This growth is supported by 23 additional aircraft and strong demand across Europe, Asia, North America, Africa and the Middle East.
Etihad is operating flights at close to 90% load factors as travellers continue to choose Abu Dhabi as a global connection hub.
New destinations strengthen Etihad’s network
Between June 11 and 14, Etihad launched four new routes in just four days. These include:
- Kraków
- Palma de Mallorca
- Damascus
- Zanzibar
The new routes expand travel options across Europe, the Middle East and the Indian Ocean.
Kraków gives travellers direct access to a major cultural destination in Europe. Meanwhile, Palma de Mallorca connects Abu Dhabi with the Balearic Islands.
Damascus improves regional connectivity, while Zanzibar adds another popular leisure destination to Etihad’s growing network.
Seasonal routes return for summer travel
In addition to the new routes, Etihad has brought back five seasonal favourites:
- Mykonos – from June 15
- Malaga – from June 15
- Santorini – from June 16
- Nice – from June 19
- Al Alamein – from July 16
These destinations offer travellers more choices for Mediterranean and island holidays during the peak summer period.
Growing Abu Dhabi’s global connectivity
Etihad CEO Antonoaldo Neves said the airline is connecting more guests with more destinations than ever before.
He highlighted that the latest expansion reflects strong demand and the airline’s continued growth strategy.
The airline is also working with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi to improve visitor experiences. As part of this effort, eligible international travellers flying on Etihad-operated flights can access complimentary medical travel insurance from July to December 2026.
The coverage, administered by The National Insurance Company – Daman, provides up to 15 days of medical protection in the UAE. It also supports Etihad’s stopover programme, which encourages travellers to turn a transit stay into an Abu Dhabi holiday.
A larger summer network
With increased capacity, new routes and returning seasonal services, Etihad’s summer programme strengthens Abu Dhabi’s position as a global aviation and tourism hub.
The airline continues to expand its network by responding to changing travel demand and creating more connections across key international markets.
