Cruise passengers will have a wide range of new vessels to explore in 2026 and the years ahead, with major cruise lines introducing innovative ships featuring advanced entertainment, luxury accommodations, and cutting-edge onboard attractions.
According to cruise editor Marc Shoffman, several global operators are preparing launches ranging from mega ocean liners to intimate luxury vessels, continuing the rapid expansion of the cruise industry.
Leading cruise companies such as Norwegian Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean International, MSC Cruises, Disney Cruise Line, Viking Cruises, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Explora Journeys, and Windstar Cruises are among those unveiling new ships.
Norwegian Luna
Following the success of Icon of the Seas and Star of the Seas, Royal Caribbean International is preparing another Icon-class megaship.
Expected highlights include:
- Passenger capacity of about 5,610 guests
- Largest waterpark at sea
- A high-ropes adventure course
- Around 40 bars and restaurants
Entertainment will include a stage production of “Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” and a themed dining attraction called “Royal Railway.”
Disney Adventure
The Disney Adventure, launched in March 2026, is the eighth ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet and its largest.
Highlights include:
- Tonnage: 208,000 tonnes
- Capacity: over 6,000 guests
- Homeport: Singapore
- Cruises: 3- to 5-night Asian itineraries
Unique attractions include a Disney castle onboard and the Marvel-themed Ironcycle Test Run rollercoaster, the first of its kind on a Disney cruise ship. Actor Robert Downey Jr. serves as the ship’s ceremonial godparent.
Seven Seas Prestige
Luxury operator Regent Seven Seas Cruises will debut Seven Seas Prestige in December 2026, marking the line’s first new ship class in a decade.

The ship features the Skyview Regent Suite, a 9,000-square-foot luxury residence at sea with private butler service and a massive wraparound balcony. The maiden voyage sails from Barcelona to Miami on 13 December 2026.
Explora III
The next vessel in the luxury fleet of Explora Journeys, Explora III, launches in August 2026.
Key features include:
- Capacity: about 900 guests
- Five heated pools
- Six restaurants
- 12 bars and lounges
- Guest-to-staff ratio: 1.25:1
The maiden voyage sails from Barcelona to Lisbon on 3 August 2026.
MSC World Asia
MSC World Asia is the newest ship in the MSC World Class series from MSC Cruises, scheduled for launch in December 2026.
Highlights include:
- Capacity: 6,782 passengers
- Asian-inspired design and cultural themes
- A giant dragon installation on the promenade
- A 12-deck dry slide inspired by Gardens by the Bay in Singapore
The ship’s maiden voyage departs Barcelona on 4 December 2026.
Viking Mira
Viking Mira, launching in June 2026, will join the ocean fleet of Viking Cruises.

- Capacity: 998 passengers
The ship will offer Viking’s signature Scandinavian-inspired design while sailing through the Mediterranean and Northern Europe.
Star Explorer
Luxury cruise operator Windstar Cruises will launch Star Explorer in December 2026.
The boutique vessel features:
- 112 suites for 224 guests
- Horizon Owner’s Suites with wraparound balconies
- Yacht Club Café
- A marina watersports platform
The ship will sail year-round in Europe and is scheduled to be christened at Tower Bridge in London in May 2027.
