Rome, Italy / Minneapolis, MN — Italo, Italy’s leading private high-speed rail operator, has extended its long-term partnership with Navitaire, an Amadeus company, reinforcing its commitment to digital innovation and customer-centric rail travel through 2030.

The renewed Italo Navitaire partnership builds on years of collaboration and confirms Italo’s continued confidence in Navitaire’s New Skies® reservations and retailing platform, which underpins the operator’s flexible, efficient, and digitally driven services in one of Europe’s most competitive rail markets.

Expanding retailing and pricing capabilities

As part of the renewal, Italo will expand its retailing capabilities by adopting state-of-the-art APIs and advanced pricing optimisation tools, enabling more personalised offers and faster responses to changing passenger demand.

New features have already been developed jointly, with additional enhancements currently in design. These capabilities are being built for rapid deployment, allowing:

  • Faster time to market for new products and services
  • Seamless integration with other transportation providers
  • Greater flexibility to support intermodal travel and ancillary offerings

The evolving platform will make it easier for Italo to connect rail services with other mobility options while maintaining a consistent, customer-focused experience.

Supporting innovation in a competitive rail market

Operating across Italy’s high-speed network, Italo has positioned itself as a leader in flexibility, efficiency, and digital transformation. The extended partnership with Navitaire supports this strategy by ensuring the underlying technology can scale alongside Italo’s growing network and expanding service portfolio.

Daniele Deligia, Chief Information Officer at Italo, said the renewal reflects a shared commitment to innovation:

“Renewing our partnership with Navitaire reaffirms our commitment to deliver world-class travel experiences. Navitaire’s ability to tailor cutting-edge technology to meet the evolving needs of our passengers is a testament to the power of collaboration. Together, we’re shaping the future of high-speed rail in Italy and beyond.”

A shared vision for customer-driven rail travel

Maher Koubaa, Managing Director, EMEA at Amadeus, highlighted the collaborative nature of the relationship:

“Our renewed partnership with Italo reflects the strength of our shared vision for modern, customer-driven rail travel. We’re proud to support their growth with solutions that are as innovative and dynamic as the market they lead. The bespoke advancements we’ve developed together show how digital-first thinking can reimagine the rail experience.”
