London, UK — January 29, 2026 — Travelport, a leading multi-source travel content and technology provider powering bookings for hundreds of thousands of travel suppliers worldwide, has announced a major strategic development in Southern Africa with the appointment of a new regional Operator effective February 1, 2026. The business will trade as Travelport Southern Africa.
The newly appointed Operator is a strategic partnership between Real Time Travel Connections (RTTC) and SevenC Computing, organisations that collectively bring more than three decades of experience in delivering technology solutions across Southern Africa. RTTC has served as Travelport’s technology partner in the region since 2012 and has supported the local travel industry since 1995, while SevenC Computing has provided enterprise ICT solutions since 1996.
The move represents a significant shift in how Travelport delivers technology and services across the region, combining Travelport’s global innovation and platform capabilities with deep local market expertise and enterprise-grade ICT infrastructure.
Mark Meehan, Global Vice President and Managing Director, Travelport Global Operators, said the new operating model will enable greater flexibility and region-specific solutions tailored to the needs of the Southern African travel industry. He described the appointment as a “step change” in service delivery that strengthens Travelport’s ability to support agency growth and long-term business success in the market.
The partnership brings together:
- Travelport’s global travel technology ecosystem
- RTTC’s deep understanding of the Southern African travel landscape
- SevenC Computing’s enterprise technology, cloud, and cybersecurity capabilities
As part of the initiative, the Operator has established a Travel Service and Technology Hub of Excellence in Johannesburg, designed to serve as both a customer support centre and a focal point for innovation in regional travel technology.
Darren Osbourn, CEO of the Operator, said the hub reflects a commitment to being more than a service provider, positioning the organisation as a collaborative partner invested in the growth and competitiveness of Southern African travel agencies. With more than 25 years of industry experience, the Operator aims to support the evolving needs of the local travel community through high-touch service and advanced technology solutions.
Travelport confirmed that the transition to the new operating model will be seamless for existing clients, with enhanced support structures in place from day one. Agencies across Southern Africa will continue to benefit from Travelport’s global technology infrastructure, complemented by faster, more agile, and locally responsive service delivery.
