From ultra-luxury island villas in the Indian Ocean to an off-grid eco-retreat in Australia, the most anticipated hotel openings of 2026 reflect a global shift in hospitality — toward deeper wellness, cultural immersion and one-of-a-kind experiences.
As travel demand continues to rise, high-profile openings are redefining what guests expect from luxury stays. Industry experts say next year’s most compelling properties will focus less on spectacle and more on how guests feel when they leave — refreshed, grounded and energized.
Here are six standout openings shaping the hospitality landscape in 2026.
1. Bvlgari Resort Ranfushi – Maldives
Opening in the Raa Atoll, this 20-hectare, 54-villa property brings fashion-house precision to one of the world’s most competitive luxury markets.
The resort includes:
- 33 beach villas
- 20 overwater villas
- A private Bvlgari Villa on its own islet
Culinary highlights feature Michelin-starred concepts from sister properties, including Il Ristorante – Niko Romito (Italian), Bao Li Xuan (Chinese) and Hōseki (Japanese omakase).
Sustainability is also central. The resort plans to launch a nearby island farm and a coral restoration programme in partnership with the University of Milano-Bicocca.
2. Six Senses London – United Kingdom
Set inside the restored Whiteley building in Bayswater, this 109-room urban sanctuary marks a significant European expansion for Six Senses.
Its 2,320-square-metre spa includes:
- A flotation pod
- Cryotherapy chamber
- Longevity-focused medical clinic
- London’s first in-hotel magnesium pool
- The new Six Senses Place members’ club
The project blends large-scale urban regeneration with next-level wellness programming.

The all-inclusive model covers meals, transfers and shared excursions, with private tours available.

The property features:

Designed with antique textiles and country-chic detailing, the retreat embraces Texas’ rural aesthetic.
6. The Cormorant at 55 South – Chile
Opening in November in Puerto Williams, Patagonia, The Cormorant at 55 South will become the world’s southernmost hotel.
Developed by Silversea, the 150-room property serves as a pre- or post-cruise base for Antarctica-bound travellers.
A chartered flight connection from Santiago will allow guests to bypass the Drake Passage by air — a significant shift for Antarctic luxury travel.
Industry Trends for 2026
The most anticipated hotel openings of 2026 share several defining traits:
- Built-in wellness rather than optional add-ons
- Strong design identities and cultural narratives
- Experiential programming beyond traditional amenities
- Integration of sustainability and environmental stewardship
- Justification of premium rates through uniqueness
As luxury travelers seek deeper meaning and personalization, next year’s standout properties are positioning themselves not just as destinations — but as transformative environments.
From the Maldives to Patagonia, 2026 is shaping up to be a defining year for experiential hospitality.
