Strategic alliance integrates AI-powered risk intelligence into global travel management platforms
BCD Travel and Riskline have announced a strategic collaboration aimed at advancing corporate travel risk management through integrated technology and AI-driven intelligence.
The BCD Travel Riskline partnership combines BCD’s global travel management infrastructure with Riskline’s real-time risk intelligence capabilities, creating a unified ecosystem designed to strengthen traveler safety, communication and operational resilience.
Addressing Rising Travel Risk Incidents
According to a December 2025 travel buyer survey conducted by BCD Travel, 50% of respondents reported that their travelers experienced a risk incident in the past year requiring travel risk management (TRM) activation. Communication with travelers was identified as a top improvement priority.
The new partnership aims to close this gap by embedding actionable risk intelligence directly into BCD’s travel management platform.
AI-Powered Intelligence Integrated into Travel Programs
Under the BCD Travel Riskline partnership, Riskline’s intelligence suite — powered by a combination of human analysts, artificial intelligence and open-source intelligence — will be fully integrated into BCD’s systems.
Key capabilities include:
- Monitoring more than 100,000 global sources in multiple languages
- Risk alerts and destination intelligence in seven languages
- Real-time travel updates with 99.8% accuracy
- 24/7 analysis by global security experts across 22 countries
Risk intelligence will be delivered as automated alerts and emergency-response-enabled notifications, transforming risk monitoring from a specialist function into a core layer of corporate travel program data.
Comprehensive Risk Coverage
The integrated solution provides visibility across a broad range of risk categories, including:
- Demonstrations and civil unrest
- Health and medical risks
- Conflict and terrorism
- Crime
- Natural and environmental hazards
- Travel disruptions
- Political developments
- Visa and entry requirements
- Travel safety guidance and diverse traveler considerations
This comprehensive coverage enables faster, proactive decision-making before and during trips.
Leadership Perspective
Jorge Mesa, Senior Director of Travel Risk Management at BCD Travel, stated that in an increasingly volatile global environment, risk mitigation and traveler wellbeing remain top priorities.
Suzanne Sangiovese, CEO of Riskline, emphasized that modern travel risk management demands both speed and analytical depth, noting that the partnership aims to deliver confidence and clarity in a complex risk landscape.
Strengthening the Travel Risk Ecosystem
With more than 15,000 employees serving clients in over 170 countries, BCD Travel reported US$22.9 billion in sales in 2024. Riskline, founded in 2007 and headquartered in Copenhagen, provides intelligence services to organizations ranging from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies.
The BCD Travel Riskline partnership reflects a broader industry shift toward integrated, data-driven travel risk management — positioning intelligence not as a reactive measure, but as a proactive, embedded component of business travel programs worldwide.
